A thick coil with a plastic head on each end just popped out of something on the floor by my feet as I was driving. Any idea what it is?

You have a picture. Is it all plastic. Sounds like a might be a formed wire holder. Used for holding wires together and neat. If so its nothing to worry about.

i can say that i have no idea what that is, best guess would be something to do with the heat/ac
