my 91 chevy caprice classic 5.0... wont start.its getting fuel,spark, it been rebulid plus ,new
distri cap,igni module,timing chain,cam timing gear,igni coil, rotor button,..timing marks
aligned....its backfires in the intake,smokes from tbi.help its driving me insane.

Sounds like your wires are criss crossed, or your distributor is not in the correct spot. The distributor can be 180 degrees backward and still show cylinder one is fitting at top dead center and that would cause serious backfiring through the intake on every cylinder. Would you like me to explain how, not everybody who asks questions on here follow back after the question gets an answer on itand not explaining it for nothing.

I have a 94 caprice classic that cuts off after it gets hot but will start back up after it has sit awhile. I've change the ignition module,fuel injection sensor, water pump and spark plugs but it seems like its gotten worse.
