Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So On my 1997 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck, whenever you give it gas there is this loud popping/knock noise that comes from the rear. And it has been getting worse lately. Any answers? It is 2wd.

I should mention, it only happens when I press on the gas from a complete stop. And sometimes when I hit bumps. But it does not do it when the truck is moving. And the rear shocks are pretty new.

UPDATE: I found what was making the noise. Turns out one of the strap bolts for the gas tank was loose, and the the gas take was shifting around.
