Did you disconnect the timing wire before you attempted to set the timing? It should be under a cover on the firewall. A tan wire connector I think. You have to disconnect it while using your timing light and adjusting the distributor. Disconnecting it takes the pcm out of the equation, so that it isn't trying to compensate for your timing procedure.
Didnt try to time it all i did was tune up! Everyone keeps telling me it wont start because its outta time
Um, if I'm looking at your picture correctly you have 4 plug wires missing from the distributor cap. Where are they? That'll definitely make it not run!! HTH. -Jim
Is it possible that you didn't get the wires back on the correct plugs? Happened to me once.
that was the picture I took before I replaced everything.. all 8 plugs and wires are there..
Since the 4 plug wires were all off at once (always a bad idea) I'm with Mike. Double check the plug wires for being hooked up to the correct spark plugs. If that checks out, make sure that you're getting fuel. If that checks out, run a compression test. If all cylinders test low, it's jumped timing. HTH. -Jim
