I have a 1997 buick lesabre that is often very difficult to get out of park. I replaced the park neutral switch, no help. any suggestions

There's a solenoid that prevents the shifter from being moved out of park unless the brake pedal is pressed. It's located on top of the lower steering column near the dimmer switch and ignition switch. Sounds like it's sticking. Try this, turn the ignition to the first click clockwise from lock. Now try to shift it out of park. If it shifts fine then the solenoid is sticking for sure. HTH. -Jim
