No Anti Theft Security Light in dash

2007 Grand Prix. Intermittant no power after stopping. Wanted to change the cylinder with new key. But the anti theft security does not light up on the dash to reprogram. What the heck is with that

In order to be able to program additional keys to the vehicle yourself you must have at least one working key already. If you don't, the first new key must be programmed to the vehicle by the Dealer or a good locksmith. Hope that helps! Jim
