Wont start in cold weather

Asked by Angela Nov 26, 2020 at 10:42 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 pontiac grand prix 3.8 6cyl base. Ive had her about 6
months now i have done a few repairs never had the
engine light come and she always started beautifully until
it was cold weather. Still no engine light all the interior
lights come on the dashboard lights come on. When i turn
the key she clicks but wont start. I had her jumped and she
started right up no problem. Why wont she start in cold
weather? All fluids are good. Just put in a new radiator
ignition module spark plugs overflow thermostat map
sensor and coils.

Cold weather can severely slug your battery.. check the date on it and see if its older than 3 years.. if it is then thats probably the issue

Good advise. Probably a weak battery. Good enough to run lights and stuff but not enough capacity to crank over the engine. Time to replace it.

Time for a new battery. You can also add a block heater and a battery heater if you have problems in the future.
