sounds like ur trannys about to go out. depending on how many miles ur car has and how well maintained its been id recomend flushing ur tranny and being real nice to it. but if u have very high miles the gunk and build up could possibly be the only reason your gears and such in the tranny are held together. if that is the case a tranny flush could be a bad idea because the internals could come apart. so thats up to you other then that it could just be whatever sensor or mechanism that triggers the ingagement of drive, possible wireing issue. If u dont have money to fix it all i can say is baby it enjoy her while she lasts. personally i have a 2000 grand prix GT and its the most tempermental car ive owned sence my 79 caddy. if i dont let it sit when i start it the tranny or the torque converter slip. random lil stuff will quit working one min andstart working again randomly my car is a lil slow at engageing sometimes when i go from park into gear. i think its some kind of defect
