Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down.

If the crank sensor detects a problem with the timing, it will immediately shut the engine off to prevent it from being damaged (most engines like yours are "interference engines" meaning pistons/valves can collide is the timing is off) - so the problem may not actually be the crankshaft position sensor, but the timing. If you got a crankshaft position sensor OBD code keep in mind the sensor may be doing its job, and the root problem could be the timing chain/belt. Granted that's a worst case scenario. I would look into all the possible causes of a CKP code. BTW did you check for codes? Even a bad CAM sensor can make it look like a bad CRANK sensor as they share the same circuit.

My 2010 R/T would shut off when i come to a stop. No check engine light would come on. A mechanic suggested to remove and clean the throttle body. Haven't had the problem since.
