why does my truck lose power shortly after driving in rain?
When I scan I get code indicating #6 cylinder misfire. I recently replaced spark plug wires but it still does it. I look for any sign of moisture near plug and coil but they are dry. The truck has aprox. 175000 miles and runs great when on dry road.
Lol I have an explorer every time I drive in the rain the lights blow out
You might have a Crack in the cylinder which would allow water in which could be why it misfires
Wait until it gets dark and raise the hood. Start the engine and use a spray bottle to mist the area with water. You'll probably see it start sparking and the truck will begin to misfire. Could be a hairline crack in the spark plug or a plug wire not properly seated. When a vehicle is susceptible to moisture it's going to be an ignition system problem 99% of the time. HTH. -Jim
