Check engine light was flashing, now it's stopped

Asked by Purseparade1224 May 12, 2018 at 08:33 PM about the 2007 Hyundai Sonata V6 SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a car with the check engine light
illuminated. It started blinking while driving, them it
went back to being a solid illumination. I had the
codes read and it said multiple misfire, cylinder 4
misfire, and O2 sensor. It was missing but hasn't
recently but the light is still on.

When it flashes or blinks it means your engine is misfiring. You should back off on the throttle or stop. You should have a mechanic look at your car, a tune-up may resolve some problems but they should also look into timing problems.

Spark plugs, plug wires, dirty fuel injectors, dirty fuel filter, bad coil, low fuel pressure, low compression, head gasket failure for misfire, possible others like computer, shorts, crank sensor, timing, burned valves ect. but O2 sensor code is showing because of the misfire.

What if you drove it home should I row my car to the dealership? My dealership is 6.9 miles away and I drove it 20 miles home after the light turned on. Please help.

Only row your car if the water is deep enough.
