Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata stands out as a midsize sedan that blends style, technology, and value. For you, that means a roomy back seat and trunk, a long list of standard equipment, and a cabin that was redesigned around dual 12.3-inch screens with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.

It also broadens its appeal with all-wheel drive, and the available upgrades help it feel more upscale than many rivals. The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is described as a comfortable, well-equipped cruiser with strong safety and tech content. It also offers a broad range of standard driver-assistance features, which adds to its everyday appeal.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the feature set and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained properly and checked carefully before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the car closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or poor repairs. Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

This is a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,365 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,671, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $21,672 sits slightly below last year's $23,874.

That tells you the market has moved down, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you can expect later as a seller. If you plan to resell, the current pricing trend suggests you should buy carefully and focus on condition, because a clean, well-kept example will be easier to position when it's time to move on.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $21,836, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $21,672 average.
• It adds improved crash-test ratings.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the stronger starting point because it costs less and still offers a healthy share of good deals. If you can stretch for the newer model and want the added safety improvements, the 2025 is the better secondary path.
