Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata stands out because it combines distinctive styling with a broad spread of features and powertrains. Hyundai gave it a major refresh for 2024 with new front and rear styling, a cabin redesigned around a pair of 12.3-inch screens, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, and a different gear selector inspired by the electric Ioniq 5.

It also gained all-wheel drive availability, which adds flexibility if you want a midsize sedan with more capability than usual. The Sonata’s appeal is strongest if you want a roomy interior, generous standard equipment, and a wide range of versions, including gas, hybrid, and N Line models.

Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is described as a relaxing, well-equipped cruiser with good reliability and safety rankings. Its standard safety tech and broad feature set support that reputation, especially if you want a sedan that feels modern without moving into luxury-car pricing.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t picked up hidden damage or neglect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the body, interior, and electronics. Because the Sonata’s appeal depends heavily on its features and condition, make sure everything works as expected and that the car shows consistent wear for its mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,668 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,949, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $21,949 sits slightly below last year's $24,198.

That price movement suggests the Sonata has become more affordable for buyers, which can also mean a softer resale position for future sellers. If you buy now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but you should expect the market to remain price-sensitive. Well-kept examples with strong equipment and clean history should hold up better than average.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.30% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $22,131, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $21,949 average.
• It adds rear-seat air conditioning vents and improved crash-test ratings.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2024 if you want the better value and a broader pool of listings to shop from. If you’re price-sensitive, the current year’s softer pricing makes it the smarter starting point; if you want the newer safety and comfort updates, the 2025 is worth the extra money.
