1997 chevy tahoe 4wd
1997 chevy tahoe. Push button 4wd. Transfer case functions. Front axle actuator functions. Still no 4wd. Lights on buttons flash. No codes. ????????? Help
Are you sure the transfercase shift motor is operating, very common failure on these.
Yes. Replaced anyway. In 4wd can't spin front driveshaft by hand.
If the front actuator works you won’t be able to spin the front driveline on the ground, all four wheels need to be off the ground to do a good test.
Off the ground or on, in 2wd you can spin the front driveshaft by hand. 4wd you can't. Transfer case is functioning pproperly. All 4 wheels off the ground, front actuator extends front driveshaft is spinning, front wheels don't.
If the front drive shaft spins under power and the front wheels will not rotate and the actuator engages then it has to be inside the front differential.
