A CV Joint is part of the axle on each side of your car in the front that connects to the transaxle to the hub/wheel. Usua;;y the boot around it fails allowing dirt and water to enter damaging the joint. The Axle shaft then has to be replaced. THey are easy to find, easy to replace with the right tools and knowledge, not all that expensive, maybe $300-600 for one side.
