Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 1500 4x4 suburban. When first put in gear it hits hard, like its in low range. Then you
accelerate and it goes but then starts to slip, revs to 4-5 k then let off and it grabs second hard! This
continues through all the gears. I'm thinking pump?? but I am not sure maybe sol. any help??? thanks

Four possibilities: 1 the filter and fluid need to be changed, if the filter is clogged it causes the slippage. 2 either the governor is modulator valve are clogged or faulty. 3 Worst possible cause is the Torque Converter could be bad. 4 Of course there is the possibility of the clutches and gears being worn but that is less likely than one of theothers

Also a possibility of the throttle position sensor being set so the computer thinks its throttle is open more causing hard shifts. The hard shifts could have broken a motor mount if it went on for too long.
