Is it possible to get a vw dealership to correct inproperly factory installed oil rings on my 2001 jetta-excessive oil consumption
I've read recently about the vw jetta (2001 2.0cc), that the excessive oil consumption is caused by the improper factory installation of the oil rings. Apparently the oil rings were installed upside down. VW should correct the problem at no cost to the customer.
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2001/volkswagen/jetta/recalls/ No recall so they are not gong to fix it free..but I did find a discussion at: www.jettajunkie about that very thing, only in 2001 and only on the 2.0 liter and only on #1 piston ...they were indeed installed on thousands of cars up-side down but VW says "deal with it"..piss poor customer service
Thanks for the prompt and helpful info. Too bad for me,right? Oh well.
