Starter not turning over

Asked by Kayedee84 Oct 12, 2018 at 04:35 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban C1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck had the original starter on it I replaced it after it
would not turn over but it would click out as if trying to
engage and crank. So after buying a new starter it crunk
with no problems about 4 times then did the same thing as
before. I returned it and got a new on and the process
repeated itself. I'm on starter #5 whats wrong with my baby

Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. In the underhood fuse block, pull the starter relay, Use a jumper wire on load side of relay, the load side is terminal 30 and terminal 87, use jumper between those two terminals, hopefully, the starter motor will crank the engine. If it does, have to check control side of relay, check it for voltage and ground. Just my opinion. I just got a new computer and my automotive database has been redone, I'm still trying to figure things out? At the moment, I can't post a wiring diagram. I'll figure it out. lol
