Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 1998 vw cabrio conv. and the windshield washer fluid tank is not connected at the bottom? Its connected by several wires attached to the tank and the wires lead into the car.  The wiper fluid tank is not screwed in and I can move it all around.  How do I fix this?  How much would something like this cost?

I just looked up a resevoir for your year. Here's the link:http://www.carpartsshed.com/Catalog/Default.aspx? Make=Volkswagen&Model=Cabrio&Part=Windshield%20Washer%20 Fluid%20Reservoir&sku=OESW01331734722 I take it yours is missing the screw tabs on the top? A new tank is 90 bucks. I think you mentioned that it doesn't work either. If your current one is not squirting fluid, then most likely your fluid pump is shot. You can pick one up on Ebay for about 15 bucks. But first test the wire to the pump with a 12 volt test light. If you have power to the pump when you hit the switch, and your pump isn't working, then you will need a new one.
