sos warning light coming on in my 2005 e500
SOS is just what it appears to be, no hidden meaning. It is like OnStar, you pushed a panic button ...~~~... it will locate you and either call you to see what the trouble is or call 911. The only other scenario is a warning that it is disabled
Thank you, didn't push button warning just comes on. How do I get this reset?
To turn off the SOS warning, shut off the engine and then turn the key back on. Then turn on the headlights and leave them on for two minutes. Then turn them off and turn off the key. The message may still there at the time but will be gone the next morning. It has to do with the brain box having a battery voltage question and by burning the headlights for two minutes, the brain box sees a voltage drop and records the new battery voltage.
