I've read up on it and many people are saying that the
latch is stuck down and can b popped out but it's not at

The latch itself might be broken if it wont latch the door into the closed position. Try ebay or your local junk yard for a used replacment latch if it cannot be repaired.

Found this online: Assuming that you have tried WD40, and checked for signs of obvious wear, there IS a bolt that is for fine adjustment of the door lock position. Unfortunately to reach it you have to remove the door lining and the airbag, etc, which is quite a task.

I was going to use wd40 but I hear if not used properly it can cause damage to the electrical ?

I had the same problem on my 98. The door just suddenly stopped working. I changed the door latch (not an easy task) and the door now works fine.

By the way, a new original-equipment door latch will cost about $130 - $280 from some reputable online providers. The cost depends on the year and options (like keyless entry, power door locks).
