What could be wrong

Asked by Dec 17, 2015 at 01:18 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Impala Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my Impala will shake and stall  amd cut off when I
get to a red light or a stop sign I took it to
Autozone put it on the machine and it needed a
knock sensor I have one put on the next day and
shuts off again what could be this problem

1 Answer

The knock sensor will not cause these issues. Bad fuel most common. Add fuel dry to the gas tank. If not there is a list of things, idle air control solenoid, vacuum leak, faulty purge solenoid, vacuum leak, fuel regulator leaking fuel into intake through vacuum hose/line, ETC...
