I have recently had a problem with my 2000 Mercedes C230. When I start my car, I have to wait untli it warms up before I can put it into gear

This problem has continued for several weeks. I would like to know what going on and how expensive is it going to be to repair.

Depends on who works on it, where your located at and what the issue is. Get a few estimated from some local shops. But from your description it sounds transmission related. Possible low fluid level, are there leaks? It also can be worn internal transmission seals. Check the fluid level first and change the fluid if it is old.

Tom is correct - most likely transmission issues. Has the tranny fluid and filter ever been changed. This is a very often a forgotten maintenance duty. Mercedes transmissions require far more frequent flushes than do other makes. Some MB's are every 39k miles while other cars may be every 100k miles.

I will have to check the fluid this weekend, because I do not remember the last time it was checked. Thanks guys at least this give me a direction.
