Why is the fuel relay getting hot on my 1999 dodge 3500

They do run warm as they have an electromagnet in them, but if they are too hot to handle then you either have a bad relay or the circuit is drawing more current than the relay can handle, might do an amperage draw on the fuel pump wire, possible bad fuel pump.
