what needs to be reset when run out of fuel

Asked by Robert M Dec 12, 2015 at 01:34 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4-Door 4WD

Question type: General

do you need to prime fuel system after running out of fuel?

2 Answers

Not normally. The electric fuel pump should have the system full of gas in just a few seconds. Diesel engines are another thing though.

Nope, but those pumps are extremely sensitive to being ran dry. It destroys them. Especially if you turned the key on trying to start it over and over.
