Question type: Maintenance & Repair

transmission lost all drive gears, only goes reverse. seemed to happen after we hit a big puddle, then a few hours later it sputtered, then lost drive gears. Dont know if one has to do with the other?

Sure does, you probably sucked up some water in the transmission, mixing with the trans fluid and destroying the clutch packs. You can check the dipstick, is it foamy and pink? Time for a rebuild.
