Tranny works fewinutes then loses power.
OK I'm in a bad situation and desperate I need this truck to run
yesterday. Got truck had to reinstall tranny. They took it out. I
replaced shifter rod. Used the old torque converter. Put it on
truck replace crank sensor it starts. They had fluid going to a
small oil cooler in front not radiator. I tested it found no leaks.
Ran cooler lines to radiator correct way. Running good about 5
minutes then no power like no fluid inaide. It's completely full.
Could there be a blocked line or radiator is clogged up preventing
fluid from returning to tranny or is the sensor inside bad. I have
another tranny that came with truck . its a 2 wheel don't know the
year but evevthing is i identical. Except elec plug. Will the
pressure sensor etc fit on my tranny. I am out of money and
need truck to start so I can go home. Please what's wrong with
It all depends onif your transmission isa hydraulicor an electronic. If its eletronic you will have the govenor shift sensor and solenoid just insidethe transmission pan. Those two parts will cause loss of power
It's electric. I dropped pan and filter was clogged bad. Started to work good had to drop pan again. Same thing only not as much. It was running great. Wasn't paying attention and put it in 1 not D and was looking to change lane got up to 4 rpm and tranny was winning bad before I realized in 1. Now fluid is coming out around torque converter. And shifting erratically. Goes for little bit than no power. Shut off. Wait. Then goes. Then stops.
Will the torque converter from 42 re work in my tranny. What about shift sensor and solenoid will they work to. Completely out of money and truck is only mode of transportation and stuck moving to Seattle from phx. If someone in phx has a heavier duty trans that will work in my truck I will give them both of these trannys and a Suzuki quad. Want out of here and need truck to pull my camper trailer home.
