What wires am I looking for 2001 Chevy Impala

Asked by Aug 22, 2015 at 12:00 AM about the 2001 Chevrolet Impala LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently had issues getting my car started and I was found that it was the battery so I went ahead and did it myself I am no where near experienced with cars and this is what ultimate what cause my problem. There is a wire that goes around a bolt with a nut the tightens down on top of it. There are two of said bolts which sit to the left of each of the under hood fuse box, and they both have a red cap the covers the bolt labeled battery aux pos. I have no clue what set of wires these are. However, the one connected to the top fuse box snapped when I was replacing the battery. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Those actually power the fuse box that they're connected to. With out it hooked up the fuse box and everything that draws power from it will be dead. HTH. -Jim
