2001 chevy impalaLS I'm having problems with the seat belt retracting , drivers side , front .I want to fix it myself , how ?
I own a 2001 chevy impalaLS , love the car , had it since it was new . I am having
problems with the drivers side , front , seat belt . all the bells and whistles work , it
just won't retract . due to the high cost of repairs , I would like to fix it myself . would like some feed-back or even a link to a how-to-video . thanks , wally
Usually when a seat belt acts it is best to just replace it, but sometimes crud can foul things up in the retract unit, try using some high pressure air and blow into the retract unit, see if you get anything out of it and if it starts to function like it should, if not then your only choice is replacement. You could try an auto wrecker for a replacement assembly, most of them have a warranty on the part.
