I have a 98 s10 ZR2 there's thin white smoke coming from the oil dip stick port. Any ideas?
It's normal for oil to do that in all cars. The older the oil gets, the easier it heats up and when it heats up it smokes. The smoke you see is combustion gases that "blowby" the piston rings and valve seals in an engine. A small amount is good, a lot is bad.
It's getting heavier but oil is holding up. I'm thinking it could be pvc?
I was thinking the same, replace the PCV valve and see if it clears up. Cheap insurance.
Just replaced the pvc made the smoke thiner and now looks normal
