Lose all power to inside when turning key to start

Asked by Sep 30, 2016 at 12:04 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet S-10 2 Dr LS 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed engine on 98 s10 and put a 1995 engine in it out of a s10 blazer. Changed all of the wiring harnesses inside and out. Even used the s10 Blazer computer but when I turn the key on I have nothing to the inside. I can run a jumper to the alternator and I have power inside but when I turn the key to start I lose all power. All fuses are good and all grounds are connected good. Also with the jumper to the alternator lights work but have to turn dash lights all the way off or will have the buzzer constantly on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you missed some connections and or grounds, you should also check the fuse links.
