My truck just cut off while it was parked in the driveway. it wouldn't turn over I changed starter, now it turns flywheel a little but not much. Small amount of white smoke from carb? What's wrong?

When it first happed battery was dead, its
old, so I hooked cables up and it wouldn't
turn over at all. Just a loud thumps. I
tapped on started and it started but running
wierd a little shakey. It wouldnt start again,
it tried to turn flywheel but barley could turn
it. Thats when I changed to another used
starter. Its not any better. And small
amount of smoke out the carb when try
turning it over. Please help.

Remove all of the spark plugs and rotate the engine from the crank pulley, it should rotate with some resistance but move easily overall. Possible timing chain failure

Was rolling in 5th gear going 60, heard aloud screeching noise and it threw us forward in the seat and slowed it immediately to about 40.I pulled off to the side of the road and smoke was coming from under the truck.I looked around and couldn't see anything visibly wrong.I started it up again just fine and started rolling in 1st gear, then I tried to shift to 2nd the truck just stopped and wouldn't go into any gear.At this point the truck will start but when I let the clutch out, it dies(in neutral). Had to remove my drive shaft to be towed on towrope because it wouldn't roll smooth in neutral. When the engine is running now I don't feel any vibration through the gearshift anymore like how I used to before it broke down. What could it be? 3 Answers

Driving down highway in s10. Loud cracking sound. Lost power to motor and died. Was leaking antifreeze cause of loose hose clamp. Now when I try to crank it, it just turns over but will not crank. 1 Answer

i have a 2003 s-10 v6 it cuts off after i start it but if i keep my foot on the pedal it will run fine but if i cut it off and start it up it does the same thing any ideas what it could be?

I recently purchased m. I changed the plugs and wires. And gave it an oil change. When put back together initially it started but smoked a lot. now it just clicks Fast Won't turn over. 2 Answers

Sat for two days during repairs. And didn't have trouble starting before the repairs.
