my truck will start and cut off but if i keep give it gas it runs.

i have a 2003 s-10 v6 it cuts off after i start it but if i keep my foot on the pedal  
it will run fine but if i cut it off and start it up it does the same thing any ideas
what it could be?

a number of things,, try cleaning the throttle plate with a gum out type cleaner,, IAC ,,, or idle air control sludged up needing cleaned or replaced
