Hey neon , I've had a few cavaliers and still have one . check to see if the fuel pump is coming on by listening very carefully when you turn the key on you should hear a buzzing sound under the car for about 4. To 5 seconds . make sure radio and other stuff is off so u can hear good . if you don't hear anything you may have a bad pump or fuel relay . try one other thing also , I've had this problem . when you turn the key over to crank it turn the key back slowly don't just let flip back on its on and don't turn it completely back , if it stays running then you have a bad key switch , not the one you put the key in but the electronic one on the other side of column .
