-oil pressure sending unit repair?

oil pressure drops to 0 at stop signs and then back to 3.0 after I accelerate. has a new head gasket and am wondering if a new oil pressure sending unit would cure the problem? cars runs well for 132k

Good morning my MBZ 300SEL does the same thing. It just may be normal when you stop, and the oil pressure goes down. I would have it checked out by a reputible mechanic, they would know the best thing to do. Thanks David Beckman
