Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Nothing In the back of my truck works is it local electrical issues? A fuse? or just my shitty luck? lol

The rear window does not go down/up anymore AT ALL
The trunk dome light doesn't work
The trunk interior side lights do not work
Rear windshield doesn't work
Rear defroster doesn't work

this came out of no where BTW. I bought the truck used I've had it about 7 months. the dealer said the back window didn't roll down when they first got it but they had gotten it fixed. which is true because when I bought it, it worked--- kinda. I could roll it down using the keypad but not up. the interior dome light never worked since I've had it. sooooo is it a wiring issue in the door maybe? or a fuse? its driving me crazy

The wiring to that part of the truck may be damaged or a plug connector is loose or corroded. Trace out the wiring harness and look for issues.

You can also try to reboot the rear computer. Use these steps: If all three rear window functions are inoperative (1) power window, (2) rear window defroster, and (3) wiper/washer function;;; Reset the ECU computer module. To do this, (a) turn on the ignition key, (b) hold the power window in the UP position for 10 seconds. Note - You may hear a click in the rear door panel from the reset ECU (which is a good sign). Turn the ignition switch off and back on again. Check to see if the rear window defogger button light now works and also the rear wiper/washer. If they do work, also try the power window, although it probably will not move because of the defective “brake”. If all are still inoperative, try doing the reset again, but hold the power window button in the DOWN position rather than the UP position as before. (It took me several times to get this to work. Mine did reset, but the window would still not work because of the metal brake; however the other co.ponenets started to work.

I have a similar problem with extras. Not only do the rear window, defrost, and wiper not work, but also can't control other windows from driver door. Door lock doesn't work from driver door. ESC OFF, and VSC TRAC OFF both lit. Parking brake always lit. Close driver door, locks unlock twice. Have replaced, driver door ECU, rear ECU, and body ECU. NO change. I applied power to rear window motor with a Power Probe and it works fine, it's not the brake thing I've read about. I've tried the rear window reset, doesn't work. What am I missing? 2001 Sequoia Limited

Also, the rear window works fine with the key, up, down, locks, everything. I am noticing some intermittent issues with the door lock function on the driver door panel. It will work, seemingly after I give the back door a good hard close, then stop again. I can't confirm for sure, but think that might be what happened. This is a good clue to look for a bad connection in the rear door.
