floorboard dampness underneath the carpeting
got a used 98 rav 4, just noticed that there is dampness underneath the carpeting in the front passeger side, rear passenger side and the back. Any ideas as to what is causing this.
if it's green and smellls like coolant, we're in trouble...but now that summer is over and you'll be not using your A/C...the blocked evaporator tube, leading out of the exchanger box...down thru the floor is obstructed by junk that your environmental filter was not able to pull out...and a handy size for vermon to lay their eggs...in short, blast the drain clean with a pin blaster or use the hilbilly method of drilling a 1/4 hole at the evap elbow and fish a straightened out coathanger thru it to bulldoze the obstructor out the bottom~...then duct tape the hole up~
Is this in the summer while you are using the AC? the condenser tends to leak inside through the firewall instead of outside.
Blast them spiders and evil things from your drain tube...(or back inside)...whatever...restore proper flow of the exit drain~ (from your evaporator)~
