Noise from front end when going over bumpss
I have a 2002 Toyota Corolla. Ive been on a
road trip across America & have noticed a
new clunking sound when I go over a
bumpy road. The sound is more apparent
when shaking the wheel back and forth
aggressively. I jacked up the car to inspect
things and from what I can tell the tie rods
look to be ok. The only thing that looks out
of place is the sway bar end links that
connect to the control arm. The rubber
boots on the right side are completely torn.
Just wondering if this could be the problem
or is it something else ?
Very well can be part of the problem, I'd replace them and see if it helps. Could be ball joints or tie-rod ends, especially if they were never replaced. The tie-rods are connected to the steering rack. There are specfic ways to check. Look on youtube for some instructional help.
