My I had my 2006 conv solara detailed and they used saddlesoap on the top- after conflicting recommendations about using water repellent and not to use it - am I in trouble now with saddlesoap?
The reason you don't want to use water repellents is a lot of them contain silicone, and silicone dries out fabrics, leather, vinyl, rubber etc. If it was the high quality saddlesoap that contains only organics as the cleansing agents then no you should be just fine, I use saddlesoap on my leather seats all the time and it keeps them nice and soft so I don't have to worry about drying out the leather even in the heat of summer or getting too brittle in the cold of winter. Leathernew is good stuff and you can get it an spray bottle. HTH
