Transmission fluid level is fine but when shifting from park to drive position, vehicle rpm drops under 1000 and drive will not engage. car won't move back or forward.

Sounds like a bad shift solenoid in the transmission. You can try and replace the throttle position sensor and see if that helps. If not, probably a bad shift solenoid. Will have to take that in to the tranny shop.
