What can I do to stop the screech that happens after I turn on my car?

Asked by GabbyML May 08, 2020 at 10:36 PM about the 1991 Toyota Camry DX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car is a 1991 Toyota Camry Dx. It has just
started to make this loud, screeching noise after I
turn on my car. The car is pretty old and worn
down, and we’ve had to make numerous repairs on
it so many new parts used to replace the old. Any
idea what it could be?? Thank you.

What Engine in this vehicle? Any warning lights on or flashing when the engine is running? Sounds like the Engine Drive Belt and or belt Tensioner may need to be replaced. Try this. Put some water in a discarded squirt bottle. Squirt the drive belts with water. Restart the engine and see if the noise changes or goes away. Get back with results.
