99 avalon 10 amp AC fuse not under passenger side kickplate - any ideas where?
According to the manual there should be a 10 amp fuse for the air conditioner next to some square things (relays?), but there is nothing under the kick plate resembling the illustration in the manual. Is it buried under the white plastic thing the various wire harnesses plug into? Anyone else tried looking for this fuse? Thanks.
Look inside engine compartment. Right side next to firewall.
Are you sure? Looking under the dash, drivers side, above the hood release. Remove the panel, the diagram on the panel/cover tells you where the fuses are. The one you are looking for is the one that is marked as HEATER. It's on the lower right, above a 5amp fuse for the starter I think. If you're having problems with this fuse and the AC not working and the outside temp indicator going out, try replacing it with a 30 amp fuse. Toyota built these cars with pieces of sh** AC systems, from crappy parts from crappy American suppliers. They knew the AC amplifier was defective but used them anyway. I will never buy another American made Toyota. Never have had a problem with my old toyotas that were built in Japan. But this American made 99 Avalon XLS has been the biggest piece of CRAP I have ever owned. Just sinking tons of money into it constantly. Shocks, struts bad, AC blown out twice and now a third time. Issues with the electrical system, power driver's seat failure. The car is just a piece of crap. My suggestion to you is don't replace the fuse, replace the car!
