Things need to be tested/scanned , Scan for codes , buy a scanner if you have to , when it starts test voltage at batt. That's what any of us would do , If you're going to work on your own vehicle there are certain tools you will need .

Your going to need a good scanner, volt meter and a test light to test power to your starter and the and the start terminal, also to run voltage drop tests, the battery and alternator will need to be tested. Or if you don't want to do DIY then find a good independent shop and have it checked over.

Deciphering through your description, I'd say you have a bad alternator. It' failing to keep the engine running, but is capable of recharging the battery, somewhat..... If you don't have the experience to diagnose car problems, have a mechanic do it. Paying a good mechanic is likely cheaper for you than acquiring all the knowledge and equipment you need to do the job correctly.
