2005 pontiac grand prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

it won't start. I have headlight interior lights etc but it won't turn over. I took the
battery out had O'Reillys check and charge it. They said it was good so i put the
battery back in and it STILL won't start. I tried getting it jumped still nothing. I'm
thinking battery cables so how hard are they to replace on a Grand Prix?

I doubt the battery has anything to do with the car not starting.. First check the basic's.. Air..Fuel..Spark. Then go from there.. It's hard to really say whats going on.. The engine could be starved for fuel.. Your starter could be gone.. Could be a clogged fuel filter.. There are so many small problems that could equate to a no fire situation..

Better yet... Is the CEL (Check Engine Light) On? If so have you had the codes checked?

I guarantee you its not your battery cables. Before you start randomly replacing things find the problem. Make sure all battery connections, including the grounds are clean and tight at both ends. If you think it might be the starter take it off and have it tested before spending money on a new one. If you're not up to doing this yourself, spend a few dollars at a shop having it evaluated.
