Asked by GuruCNSCL Feb 24, 2019 at 08:55 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT2

Question type: Car Customization

How complicated is it to swap out the
supercharger from a 1 code motor to a regular
3.8L? Thanks.

Its a big job. As well as the supercharger itself you need the ECM and wiring harness and the two stage fuel pump. Also your engine was not engineered to be supercharged so you will have to go easy on it. Same goes for the transmission. The supercharged cars had the heavy duty version of the transmission. Your non supercharged car will not have that. If you have lots of money and don't want to drive this car for a loooong time while you work on it, go for it. For my time and money, I'd buy a GTP and start driving tomorrow.
