3800 series 2 Occassional engine stall but never shut off it would rev back to normal speed

QUESTION: i have a 2003 pontiac grand prix super charger with the 3800 series 2 engine i have a problem with the car when i start the car it start fine and run fine but sometime i get these Occasionally stalling while am driving but it don't stall and then shut of no it rev back up to normal speed and when it does that the (HUD) head up display say check gages when i do i see the temp light comes on and i always have coolant but it would only show for like  3 or sometime 10 seconds then go off

Is your check engine light on? If it is, you can go to an auto parts store and have them check the codes for free. That will give you a better idea of what is going on.
