2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP wiper motor issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP's windshield wipers do not finish the cycle of wiping.  Instead of coming to a rest and stop at the bottom of the windshield they stay up in the middle of the windshield.  Would this be a relay that needs changing or do I have to disassemble the wiper motor?  Any ideas?

common gm problem, the points in motor are not connecting for wiper park! quick unorthodox fix is ,snip the certain feed wire and will stop at selected position from wiper switch in car! and that would be at base of windscreen of course!
