I have a 2002 pontiac grand prix gtp with a blown engine and I was wondering if I could put a 2001 grand prix gtp engine into it.

Should convert just fine. The body and mounting locations and bellhousing to tranny will all be the same, as there weren't any real design changes between the 01 and 02 GP.
