Why wont my car start

Asked by Aug 28, 2016 at 04:39 PM about the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 grand prix by. It runs great, until 2
days ago it started fine. Now it won't start. Doesn't
even try. Ive replaced, starter, icm, neutral safety
switch, and ignition main relay. Only thing I haven't
changed is the. Ignition tumbler. But its clicking
like its sending the signal to start. If I jump the
solenoid bypassing the relay/fuses it will start and
run fine. Any ideas?

is the battery in good condition,my advice to you is to find a specialist qualified technician to diagnose your automobiles malfunctioning motor

Battery is at 75%

Im completely stumped

Check your battery cables going to starter

Already chased all wires, to make sure were connected and not corroded...

What voltage do you have across the battery?

I don't have a voltage tester so i am not sure

A good one is available for about $75

Have your battery load tested. You don't need to spend $75 on a tester that you will only use once. That's practically the price of a new battery. Instead of randomly replacing parts and hoping for a miracle, take it in to a shop and have it properly diagnosed.

So I just tried to start my car and it started,... Without changing anything, to me that sounds like a bad ground?

Possibly. Make sure all grounds are clean and tight. Is this the same problem you had before you replaced all those parts? If you haven't had the battery load tested that's your next step. And have it scanned for trouble codes too while you're at it.

Well I took it in and had everything tested, found out it is the ignition switch, in the ignition harness
