my pontiac grand prix 2001 check engine light came on. i checked the codes and the coils came up. i tried testing the coils myself with a small vacuum hose a a light tester to see if i was getting the right amount of spark and all of a sudden my car turns on but shuts off immediately after its been turned over. what could be my problem? please help

it would probably be best to remove the coil pac and have it tested. you can do it yourself with a multimeter. there are several good youtube vids on the subject, but it would probably be easier just to take it to autozone or someplace.
